Transfer Station Customers

Hounslow Transfer Station

Making AD available to smaller producers of food waste.

Producers of food waste are always on the lookout for the most cost effective and sustainable route for their waste and this is where Biogen’s anaerobic digestion service fits the bill perfectly.

However, many organisations assume they can’t enjoy the benefits because of the relatively small amounts of waste they produce. Or because the distance to the nearest AD facility makes transport costs too expensive.

Our waste transfer stations, like the one in Brentford, West London, offer smaller food waste producers a practical, cost effective and sustainable solution.  Food waste from a variety of household and commercial sources, including the catering industry, is bulked together here and transported by bulk-tippers to one of our AD plants. Around 20-28 tonne loads can be transported at any one time.

A cost-effective and carbon friendly service

This unique service means that small restaurants, offices, schools, hotels and a range of other establishments are all able to access a cost-effective and carbon friendly method of food waste recycling which produces renewable energy for the national grid and a valuable fertiliser for crops. Customers already making use of our waste transfer station at Brentford include: food manufacturers Charlie Bigham's and Adelie Foods, Westfield London Shopping Centre, Veolia Environmental Services and Olleco
