Working with farmers
BIOGEN are developing a national network of Integrated AD plants based on the success of our pioneering Twinwoods plant. Plans have been developed for further plants with an improved and enlarged design based on the experience and knowledge gained from BIOGEN Twinwoods.
These Second Generation plants will be rolled out around the country in partnership with farmers, landowners and food waste producers, including retailers and local authorities.
BIOGEN invites farmers and landowners to work with us on the creation of new AD plants and we are actively seeking partners in all locations around the UK. We recognise that some farmers and landowners may wish to take a more or less active role in the project and each enquiry will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis. However, landowners can expect to gain a substantial additional income stream from a partnership with BIOGEN.

The Twinwoods model
BIOGEN have proved the feasibility of the business model with a 42,000 tonne commercial plant operational since 2006 on Bedfordia Farms land in Bedfordshire.
This plant clearly demonstrates our ability to undertake all the stages of plant design, planning, environmental licensing, construction and operation and it also shows how we can work with a farming partner and understand their needs and perspective. All of which gives us a unique level of knowledge and invaluable experience in the farm based application of Anaerobic Digestion.
