Our Integrated AD plant uses food and animal waste as a fuel and the rich bio-fertiliser created goes back on the fields in harmony with arable crop growth. The BIOGEN process ensures that what started on the farm ends back on the farm and nothing goes to waste.
At BIOGEN we understand the issues faced by farmers and it was from a farming perspective that the BIOGEN concept was conceived. We integrate the production of renewable energy into the operations of the farm, enabling better management of animal slurry and producing a nutrient-rich bio-fertiliser which can be spread in harmony with crop production.
BIOGEN’s parent company Bedfordia Group has its origins in farming and today is still very much involved in farming, with sister company Bedfordia Farms running one the top 25 farms in the UK. BIOGEN itself has extensive knowledge of farming within the company as many of our senior team members have
worked in the agricultural sector.
The daily interaction with Bedfordia Farms has given BIOGEN a unique advantage in developing the ‘closed loop’ model of Integrated AD that we use today.
